There is a tremendous need for people who are willing to devote at least some of their time to keeping the national parks clean in Illinois. At this time, there are already several people who love the area and hope to keep it as pristine as nature intended for it to be, but more helping hands are always appreciated. Therefore, you are encouraged to volunteer to keep southern Illinois beautiful for all that want to see what this area has to offer in the future.
Why You Should Volunteer
Everyone who lives in or visits Southern Illinois has a responsibility to do what they can to preserve the environment. If every resident decided to spend just one day a year on cleaning up the National Forests or other areas of beauty, it would ensure that Mother Nature can continue to give us all the scenic views that we have access to at this time. It would also ensure that future generations can see the area as you see it now and that tourists would continue to come visit to see the beautiful waterfalls, forests, and rock formations.
Teaching Good Habits
As a part of the cleanup efforts you put forth, you can show your kids what it means to care for the world around them. This could lead to them growing up to become an even bigger part of the preservation of your National Parks and Forests. There are already many college kids who take part in helping to keep Illinois beautiful for everyone, but they cannot do it alone.
